Abstract

Climate change is a reality that is affecting various areas of planetary ecosystems as well as the global climate. It is causing extensive droughts in regions that historically experienced high levels of rainfall, while heavy precipitation is being observed in areas that previously lacked it. Additionally, urban flooding is becoming more frequent, not only resulting in economic costs but also claiming human lives.

Although global warming is not considered the sole culprit, human decisions—such as building in unsuitable areas or on former riverbeds—also play a significant role. Nevertheless, rising temperatures have a global impact on the climate, leading to effects such as glacier melting and extreme temperatures in various regions.
