Abstract

This article explores the pedagogical evolution from constructivist theory to adaptive learning in the context of the 21st century. Constructivism, with its student-centered approach and active knowledge construction, has been a cornerstone in education for
decades. However, in an increasingly digitalized and globalized world, new demands and challenges arise that require more flexible and personalized educational approaches. This is where adaptive learning comes into play, leveraging advanced technologies to offer a more individualized, data-driven education. Through a detailed review of these two pedagogical models, the article highlights their similarities, differences, and the potential they hold for transforming education in the future. It argues that while constructivism has laid the groundwork for modern pedagogy, adaptive learning represents the next phase in educational evolution, offering new opportunities for personalization and effectiveness in teaching.
